Here you go:
"Her name was Lola;
She was a showgirl.
With yellow feathers in her hair
And a dress cut down to there . . . "
Who sings it? Can you quote any more of it?
I can actually admit while looking you in the eye that I kinda like disco. And with my new perm, I am so ready to go shine up the floor! Turn the light on the mirror ball; I've got my bell-bottoms on. Let's boogie!

Not only do I know the words and who sang it, but I saw him in concert not too long ago. (Although I don't usually admit it.)
Dare I admit that this song conjurs up a picture of a certain person scrubbing? (Remember The Student Review? I do.)
Student Review!!!! Holy cow did you just bring a flood of memories into my head...
Barry Manilow. How do you spell his name? He looked just like a guy in my ward a while back...weird.
Barbara, how long ago was "not too long ago"? Is he still swingin' it onstage? What a guy.
Jen, yes, I know what picture you are conjuring. Shhhhh . . .
Maralise, did the guy in your ward wear gold chains?
It was probably about four years ago. When I lived in California, my next door neighbor's ex-husband was (is) the music director and piano player for Barry Manilow. Barry was having a concert in Vegas and my neighbor invited me to meet her in Vegas and go to the concert. He puts on a really fun show. And I have to admit, I could sing along to most of the songs.
